Maybe its just me…
It could be that I am the only person who is tired of the same organ/synthesizer hook with a dude that sounds like he has some type of throat/lung disease….
I could be the only one that is really feeling a new song, until the hook-man de jour (Lil Jon, T-Pain, Lil Wayne) comes in and ruins what was otherwise a half-decent cut…
There is a possibility that I am the only person who cringes at the intro to the new Beyonce single/remix/cover…
Some might say I’m a hater and I can live with that. I don’t mean to single out these artists or styles as all inclusive of what I dislike about popular music made my people who look like us. You could throw darts at the playlist of most stations that represent “the best hip-hop and R&B” (the tagline from WPGC to KMEL) and hit a few others.
There are some “popular” songs out there that I like. However, does the desire for creative, original sounds from artists with some depth make me a music snob? Does anyone else feel the same way?

I feel you but you need to bow down and start speaking the language of our people.
