My wife won’t buy a Prius even though they are from SPACE

It’s time for my wife to replace her old car with something bigger and updated. I TRIED to get her to consider a Toyota Prius, because they are roomy, GREAT on gas, and just make me feel smarter than the next driver. She won’t go for it so far, but maybe this COOL commercial will help.

Prius. Technology from Space that save you gas money and makes you feel smart. (Think they will pay me for that tag?)

  1. Before she buys, suggest that she ask about the replacement cost for the battery…I was told that it should last about 5-6 years and has a replacement cost of $5000-6000. Yikes! Cool ad tho…

  2. My current profession gives me the opportunity to educate consumers about the Prius and Toyota’s other two hybrids, Camry and Highlander. The replacement cost for the battery is $3,000, an average of $1,000 for labor depending on dealership and that is outside of the 8 year/100,000 mile warranty. The battery is rated to last over and above 220,000 miles which is the life of the vehicle or an average of 10 to 15 years. If your wife is not happy with your choice, you might want to wait until the 2010 model Prius is debut at the Detroit auto show in January, 2009 and will be in Dealer showrooms in May, 2009. Until then, happy hunting!
