We are in the midst of another FABULOUS HU HOMECOMING that is known around the world for its off the chain parties, unstoppable Halftime Show and beautiful people of Color. But the one thing that binds us all together is HOWARD U. I am formally inviting everyone of Bisonroundup and every alumni and attendee (even if you took a couple summer classes or ate at the Punch-Out 🙂 to come and support the HOWARD UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION REGION II SIPS AND SOUNDS EVENT THIS FRIDAY OCTOBER 23, 2009 AT LAYLA LOUNGE! Tickets are $125, but are TAX DEDUCTIBLE as the HUAA is a non-profit organization that gives ALL PROCEEDS, minus administrative costs, TO THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR INCOMING FRESHMAN OR CURRENT HU STUDENTS!!! Sips & Sounds, through alumni support, sponsorship, and community partners, seeks to raise the equivalent of, at least, one full scholarship for each club and association within the HUAA II region. All clubs and associations will receive a scholarship based on funds raised, and a Platinum level grand prize will be awarded to the HUAA Region II club or association with the highest ticket sales. (P.S.- join your local chapter, http://www.howard.edu/Alumni/alumni.htm) The Howard University Alumni Association is a 501(c) (3) organization. All donations for this event are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable under the law.
Every year, Sips & Sounds will highlight and honor alumni from a featured school and provide a scholarship award to an incoming freshman or a current student at the featured school who meets the academic standards required for matriculation at Howard University. This year, we honor Howard University’s School of Fine Arts and the contributions of illustrious alumna, Ms. Taraji P. Henson.
