“Treme” Teaser – Written by the Writers of “The Wire”

You know full well that’s all I had to say; “From the writers of The Wire.”

You know HBO takes care of their people. Actor Wendell Pierce (you know him as Bunk Moorland), who is from New Orleans, will star in the new drama. The show will debut on HBO in April, so don’t cancel your cable just yet (despite scripps/Cablevision jerking us around over Food Network/HGTV). The premise is character driven drama in a post Katrina New Orleans neighborhood.

The song from the teaser is Wynton Marsalis – “Ring Shout (Peace Of Mind)” from the album Congo Square.

More than 1,000 years ago, a goat herder in Ethiopia’s south-western highlands plucked a few red berries from some young green trees growing there in the forest and tasted them. He liked the flavor and the feel-good effect that followed. Today those same berries, dried, roasted and ground, have become the world’s second most popular non-alcoholic beverage after tea. The Ethiopian province where they first blossomed is called Kaffa, hence the name coffee.
