Man shoots teen in rear for sagging his pants

A 45 year-old Memphis man is out on bond after police say he admitted to shooting a teenager following an argument over saggy pants.

Kenneth Bonds is charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault after two teens say he asked them to pull up their pants, they refused, and he started shooting. One of the teens, a 17 year old, was hit once in the rear end.

He was treated and released from the hospital the same day.

According to the police report, the shooting happened in the 4400 block in Whitehaven September 25th. The teens tell police they were on their way to a woman’s house to buy candy when Bonds yelled at them to pull up their pants.

They didn’t, an argument began, and that’s when Bonds is accused of first firing a shot and missing, then firing more shots and hitting the 17-year old.

Bonds was arrested a week later. Police say they contacted him by phone after he was identified in a line up and he admitted to shooting the teen. Bonds is now out on $25,000 bond.
