Ope’ asks: “Is this Rant justified?” Obama are you Listening?

This is the latest post from Ope’. Do you think this rant is justified? Are you paying for other people’s mistakes?

I have heard both sides of the issue. I’d just stipulate that until America addresses the underlying issues of inequality, this type of problem will show up in lots of different ways. For example, here is a room of financial guys screaming and yelling (Cue the scene from Network. “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not gonna take it any more!!!”) because they don’t want to pay for “others” mistakes. It’s no secret that a high percentage of folks that are losing their homes are minorities in urban settings.

Does anyone think that its a coincidence that these same neighborhoods have the worst schools?

The banks have ALREADY been “bailed out”, after which Billions of dollars went to corporate executives. Are the people really to blame here, or are they players in a larger system?

“Wouldn’t you loot? If you didn’t have the loot
Baby needed food and you was stuck on the roof
And helicopters swoop down just to get a scoop
Through his telescopic lens, but he didn’t scoop you
For the next five days, no help ensued
They called you a refugee because you seek refuge”

  1. Basically Will said the exact same thing I was thinking. The banks and mortgage companies that got help are the very reason that people now need help. If they had simply said no instead of peddling bad loans or the sake of making a profit, then a lot of this could ave been avoided.

Now he’s accusing Obama’s people with making threats against him as a result. I saw the comment in question and he’s really reaching.
