Trouble the Water
‘It’s not about a Hurricane, It’s about America’
An important new movie just hit the big screen. Three years ago, Hurricane Katrina exposed the reality of poverty and racism in this country, and the repeated failures of the Bush Administration.
Trouble the Water, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, tells the story of family trapped in New Orleans by the hurricane and its deadly floods.
The film will be released to a limited number of cities in California, Colorado, DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin. If the response is good, the distribution will be expanded to other states and cities. This story needed to be told — and people need to understand… it’s not about a Hurricane, it’s about AMERICA.
