It’s TAX Season, and according to Rich

If money could talk, it would say “Goodbye.” -Pryor

For many people that would be the case, but the topic this week is “to protect and SAVE,” …our money that is.

To that end lets talk about a few HBCU-alumni who are in the business of helping your money NOT fly away, but instead, hang around, grow, and be there when you want it.

First of all let’s get taxes out of the way and planned for in advance.

L&B Tax Service

Brian Joubert
Brian Joubert, alum of Southern University, owns L&B Tax Service and has been in business going on 20 years shortly. Don’t fall for the gimmicks you hear on the commercials. Spinning rims, and money giveaways don’t equate to high quality, knowledgable service.

Once that’s taken care of, it’s time to plan FORWARD. Put that money to work. Save for college, plan for retirement, even budget for family vacations. Whatever it is you’re working to accomplish consider getting professional advice:

Destiny Financial Group

Troy Young
Troy Young, Howard University alum, has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry. A significant portion of that time was with two of the nations largest financial service companies. For the past 4 years he has been in private practice as an independent financial advisor. Troy’s community activities include serving as Elder at his church, membership in Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Board Member of Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Dana Branham
Dana Branham, also an alum of Howard University has been a financial advisor since 2006. She began her career in the brokerage industry with AXA Advisors and Edward Jones, but spent most of her previous career with Lexmark International, a global technology company. Dana is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and a trustee at her church. She is also the founder and adviser to God’s Girls, a faith-based enrichment program for teen girls.

(And for some odd reason I created this photo of Mike Tyson flipping his pigeons, using the flying money Emoji to replace the pigeons… It was late at night. Don’t judge me.)

Have a wonderful week! For those of you enjoying the CIAA tournament, travel safe!

As always, if you know of a business owned by an HBCU alum, help us promote them by encouraging them to submitting their listing on HistoricallyBlackFriday.com.
