One of our own is working hard, being the example to hundreds of Los Angeles Area kids. Beyond that he’s working with a system designed to create more great examples using peer counseling. Ed Rice talks about how College Summit is improving the Los Angeles guidance counselor ratio, currently 1:400, to 1:25 by creating peer counselors.
Mainly funded by local philanthropy, that’s bootstrap politics at its best.
